Who we are

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting quality of life, education, health, social development, Christian values, and youth empowerment for underprivileged children and teenagers in Contagem. Our goal is to transform lives and help society provide opportunities for them to dream and build a better future.

How does Casa de Apoio work?

Casa de Apoio offers educational, sports, and cultural activities for children and teenagers during after-school hours, as well as providing meals and psychological support. At Casa de Apoio, they are guided by educators and teachers who strive to foster the development of their potential. Recently, our efforts have expanded to include the elderly, a group often neglected by society.

Our History

Casa de Apoio à Criança Carente de Contagem was founded on July 20, 1994, by entrepreneur Maurício Rangel and his wife Alessandra Rangel. Its roots go back to 1991, when the couple began distributing food to street children near their business. Later, along with other partners, the Rangel couple started serving soup every Friday to people in vulnerable situations, which led to the creation of Casa de Apoio à Criança Carente de Contagem.
