Workshops
Ballet
Casa de Apoio offers, among other activities, a ballet workshop for girls aged 4 to 18. In addition to introducing children and teenagers to the world of dance, this activity promotes the development of motor skills, respect, and discipline, which are important both at school and in family life. Ballet stimulates the body and mind, enhances concentration, and promotes well-being in all aspects of the children’s and teenagers’ lives who practice it.
Computer Technology
The IT workshop aims to expand the possibilities for a successful future for the children who participate, given that we live in a technological society. To achieve this, we offer an immersive experience based on the initial digital learning needs of each age group. Technology is increasingly present in today’s world, and we use it as a pedagogical tool to stimulate students’ creativity.
Basketball
Casa de Apoio’s basketball workshop offers classes five times a week and focuses on three dimensions: the individual, the athlete, and the professional player. The workshop also aims to conduct preventive work with children and teenagers to steer them away from the path of drugs.
Taekwondo
The Taekwondo workshop is offered twice a week and includes a competition held on Saturdays, with the goal of encouraging children to become professional athletes. The primary aim is to promote social inclusion and help children develop both physically and psychologically. Taekwondo is used as an educational tool, based on the principles of discipline and the core values of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit.
Musical Education
The Musical Education workshop offers musical experiences focused on rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic aspects, applied to various instruments such as guitar, flute, keyboard, percussion, ukulele, and melodica. These experiences allow children to explore the possibilities of each instrument, developing the skills to play them while understanding the rhythmic, melodic, and harmonic nuances each one can offer. In addition to individual discovery, children also learn to integrate instruments by playing in duets, trios, quartets, and quintets. This fosters an understanding of both the potential of each instrument and the richness of collective work. The overall goal of the workshop is to promote musical and civic awareness through music and its diversity.
Futsal (Indoor Soccer)
The goal of the Futsal workshop is to promote the human development of children and teenagers living in high social vulnerability areas, offering them a healthy life alternative. The classes emphasize the importance of stretching and warm-ups before any physical activity. During the lessons, activities such as ball control, receiving, and passing in futsal are practiced. To build endurance and recovery strength, mobility exercises with higher repetitions are performed. Additionally, marking activities are included, where players assume specific roles to increase the level of the activity.
Jazz
The Jazz workshop is offered to children and teenagers between the ages of 4 and 18. Its goal is to explore various possibilities through the basic foundations of jazz while encouraging the development of skills such as harmony, synchronization, movement aesthetics, as well as promoting interpersonal relationships, discipline, and focus.
The classes follow a methodology designed to safely accommodate the different movements and steps of jazz, respecting each student’s abilities and potential.
The aim is not only to teach the practice of jazz but also to broaden the students’ worldview through experiences in competitions and events both inside and outside Casa de Apoio.
In addition to the workshops, other activities and events are held at Casa de Apoio.
